Singer-songwriter, actress, and record producer Erykah was influenced by R&B, soul, and hip-hop music in the early 1970s. ERYKAH’S MUSIC CAREER

Erykah Badu’s music career began after she started a show for D’Angelo in 1994. That’s when record label executive Kedar Massenburg was extremely impressed with her performance and decided to sign her to Kedar Entertainment. Her first album, “Baduizm” was a solid hit as soon as it was released in February 1997. The album featured four singles that included the famous “On & On” and “Otherside if the Game”

Soon after, Erykah Badu released her second studio album in 2000 titled “Mama’s Gun”. Her single “Bag Lady” was her first track that was featured at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100. Later, the album was certified Platinum by the RIAA. Throughout her music career, Erykah has released several stellar albums that include “Worldwide Underground”, “New Amerykah Part One” and many more.

CAREER IN ACTING

With several popular tracks like “Honey” and “Window Seat”, Erykah has made a name for herself in the Soul and R&B music scene. Apart from being a singer and songwriter, Erykah Badu is also an actress. She is featured in movies such as “House of D”, “Blues Brother 2000” and many more.
